The aim of the museum is to present the history of the millennium underground and the Budapest subway in an authentic surrounding. The exhibition is located in an original tunnel section of the millennium underground which was cut out from traffic in 1955, when building the East-West subway. Hence all the exhibited trains, mock-ups, documents, and photographs crate a unique historical atmosphere in the heart of the capital.

The course No. 19, wood-paneled locomotive, the course No. 1, metal-paneled locomotive, the course No. 81 control trailer, and the almost 150 exhibited smaller art objects, models, and documents all enrich the collection of the Museum of Transport.
