When WW II broke out, airplanes have winged their ways for only a bit more than a decade. Although they developed rapidly, initially their military use was seen only in exploration. After the pilots of airplanes had armed themselves in order to fight pilots of the enemy, the moment arrived to produce airplanes to hunt planes of the enemy, namely, combat planes. Based on French concepts, the Germans managed to create foolproof combat planes, then other fighting parties followed them. A never-ending race started to produce newer and newer, better and more improved combat planes. With the birth of combat planes, “aces” appeared as well. These men were courageous fighter-pilots who became celebrities of war times on their planes made mostly of wood and linen. The presentation reviews the formation of combat planes and their fights on the Western front line.

The presentation is delivered in Hungarian language.
