The presentation introduces two decades of British airship-programme.

Although in the first decade of the 20th century Germans have made significant advantage concerning rigid metal framework airships used for exploration and bombing, other European world powers launched some kind of an airship programme. The British – influenced by the Germans – tried building Zeppelins before WW I, the endeavours were unsuccessful, however. After they had experienced the threat posed by German military airships, they continued their programmes based on these models but the arrears could not have been overtaken. Airship buildings failed without exception, in spite of gaining information from spying and inspecting German Zeppelins which had crashed over entente field. Bad luck has endured even after the war, finally, the destruction of R101 in 1930 put an end to the British Zeppelin programme.

The presentation is delivered in Hungarian language.
